Sweet Potato Day planned at State Farmers Market Thursday

To celebrate North Carolina’s success as the top sweet-potato producer in the nation, the State Farmers Market will host Sweet Potato Day. The annual event includes free samples of a sweet-potato dessert prepared by the State Farmers Market Restaurant and recipes to try at home. Market vendors also will have plenty of sweet potatoes available for purchase.

Thursday, Sept. 25
11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Event area located between the N.C. Seafood Restaurant and the garden section of the Farmers Building.

The State Farmers Market offers the best of agricultural products grown, raised, caught and made in North Carolina. Shoppers can find seasonal produce from local farms, trees and shrubs for fall planting, fresh meats and seafood, as well as specialty products and gifts for all occasions.
