 Incumbent U.S. Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-Lincoln,cruised to a sixth term representing central and western North Carolina in the U.S. House of Representatives. According to unofficial results, McHenry beat challenger Tate MacQueen with 61 percent of the votes with all precincts reporting.
