Smithfield Foods has released a second video in its multi-media effort launched last year spotlighting the Smithfield, Va.-based pork processor’s sustainability efforts. The latest video features Smithfield employee Ashley DeDecker, who at the age of 30 is assistant director of production research at the Smithfield swine research subsidiary Murphy-Brown. Her work – as outlined in the video – centers on sow housing and methods to keep hogs comfortable on hot, humid conditions. The first video installment of the “Sustainability Stories” series also introduced a company employee working toward a sustainability culture at Smithfield. To view the video, click here.
