State Farmers Market to host Collard Day Friday

Fans of fresh greens will want to check out Collard Day at the State Farmers Market. Shoppers can try free samples of collards and hushpuppies prepared by the State Farmers Market Restaurant. Samples of relishes, chow-chows and salsas will also be on hand. In addition, market vendors will have plenty of locally grown collards available for purchase.

The State Farmers Market offers the best of agricultural products grown, raised, caught or made in North Carolina. Shoppers can find seasonal produce from local farms, trees and shrubs for fall planting, fresh meats and seafood, as well as specialty products and gifts for all occasions. Starting the weekend before Thanksgiving, farmers will also have fresh N.C. Christmas trees, poinsettias, wreaths and garland for purchase.
