AgCarolina Farm Credit to host economic forums

AgCarolina Farm Credit is hosting two forums on the latest Economic Outlook and Trends in Agriculture.   The forums will be presented by the Farm Credit System’s Terry Barr, who is Senior Director for CoBank’s Knowledge Exchange Division.   He is based in Washington, DC.    


Dr. Barr’s principal focus is assessing the interactions between the U.S. and global economy and the global food, energy, fiber and agriculture markets.   Particular emphasis is placed on factors shaping the rapid structural transformation of U.S. agriculture and agribusiness and the implications for commodity markets, trade, farmer cooperatives, and rural infrastructure.   


Participants may choose from one of two forums:   December 2, 6:30 p.m., Gateway Convention Center, Rocky Mt., NC, dinner will be provided, or December 3, 12:00 p.m., Bob Martin Agricultural Center, Williamston, with lunch provided.  RSVP’s are requested by November 25, by calling 800.951.3276 xt.393 or email to jbledsoe@agcarolina.com.
