The North Carolina November Farm Report was released November 26 by USDA’s NASS NC Field Office.  

NC peanut production totaled 381 million pounds, up 21% from last year.

Upland cotton production at 970,000 bales is up 27% from last year.

Soybean production at 68.8 million bushels is up 42% from 2013.

Corn for grain production at 106.1 million bushels is down 14% from last year.

North Carolina layers totaled 13,561 in 2014 up from 12,925 in 2013.  

Total eggs produced totaled 275 million in 2014 up from 268 million in 2013.

Broiler-type chicks hatched increased 2 percent to 71, 695.

Milk production in NC increased to 228 million pounds in 2014 up 4 percent from 219 million pounds in 2013.

Cattle in NC slaughtered totaled 2. 5 million head in 2014, dropping from 2.6 million head in 2013.

Hogs in NC slaughtered totaled 8.0 million head in 2014, dropping from 9.0 million head in 2013.
