The United States and Mexico have reopened appeal proceedings of Mexico’s final ruling against the U.S. in an antidumping investigation on U.S. exports of chicken leg quarters, according to the North American Meat Association.

In 2012, Mexico found against the U.S. and sought import duties ranging from 25.7 percent to 127.5 percent. The country’s Secretariat of Economy approved the duties, but the fees remain pending because Mexico’s government believes an avian influenza outbreak there is distorting market prices.

In response, Washington requested a panel under the North American Free Trade Act. This appeal has now been reopened.
