The Tobacco Farm Life Museum is now accepting applications for the Innovative Young Farmer of the Year award.  The award, sponsored by the Farm Credit Associations of North Carolina, will reward the hard work and innovative thinking of young farmers in North Carolina.

Applications for the award should be returned to the Tobacco Farm Life Museum by January 6, 2015.  Applicants must be between the age of 18 and 40 and actively seeking to promote and advance agriculture in North Carolina.

The award will be presented to the winner at the museum’s annual, “Breakfast with the Commissioner,” event at the Southern Farm Show in Raleigh.  This year’s event is scheduled for February 6, 2015 at 8:00 AM in the Holshouser Building on the NC State Fairgrounds.

“AgCarolina is excited to play a part in recognizing the up and coming leaders in agriculture,” said Dave Corum, CEO of AgCarolina Farm Credit.  “Farmers face new challenges each day, and it’s important to identify and build upon innovations to help meet those challenges.”
