For the purpose of electing directors of the NC Pork Council, the state is divided into seven districts. Each of the districts is guaranteed one elected director, with the remainder of the 11 elected directors allocated among the districts in proportion to the hog population contained in each district.

These districts and the process for electing directors is outlined in NCPC's bylaws.  The NCPC board of directors has asked the bylaws committee to review the current districts and consider if changes are needed in the geographical make-up of the districts and specifically, if any of the districts need to be combined.

NCPC members are encouraged to attend the NCPC annual meeting Thursday afternoon, Feb. 5 in the Martin Building on the NC State Fairgrounds to provide input about current NCPC districts. Moe Mohesky, chair of the bylaws committee, will lead the discussion.
