$1.45 million Ag Center bid okayed

A low bid of $1.45 million for converting a former Northwestern Bank building off Oakwoods Road in Wilkesboro into the Wilkes County Agricultural Center was approved Tuesday.

 The Wilkes County commissioners unanimously approved the bid, submitted by MBI Builders LLC of North Wilkesboro, for renovating the 33,000-square-foot building. Completion is scheduled in 180 days after work starts.
