The new chairman of the House Agriculture Committee plans to investigate the federal nutrition program. "We spend $80 billion a year on food stamps; let's take a look at that and see what works and what doesn't work," said Texas Congressman Mike Conaway, "Let's reevaluate on how that program is considered successful by looking how quickly folks can get off the program, back on their own two feet and taking care of their families, as opposed to the current model that says it is successful the longer you stay on it."
