Ellmers statement on president’s veto of Keystone Pipeline

Congresswoman Renee Ellmers (R-NC-02) released the following statement after President Obama’s Veto of the Keystone XL Pipeline:
“For six years, members of both parties have worked together to pass the Keystone Pipeline in an effort to create thousands of new jobs and build momentum towards energy security. Why the president chooses to turn his back on more than 60 percent of Americans supporting this project is beyond me.?The Keystone project has undergone rigorous environmental analyses and a series of extensive reviews—yet our president has made the baffling decision to place politics ahead of common-sense policy and stall an opportunity that would boost jobs and advance our nation’s economic growth. The fight to build Keystone is far from over, and I will continue standing with Second District constituents to ensure their voices are heard.”
