The State Farmers Market is kicking off its lineup of spring promotions with the Spring Craft Fair March 13-15.

The annual event features dozens of local artisans selling their homemade products and handicrafts. Vendors will have an array of items including ornamental garden accessories, spring floral arrangements, woodworking, soaps and candles, quilted items, pottery and baked goods. Booths will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Farmers Building, Craft Shed and Market Shoppes.

The Spring Craft Fair is the first of many special events held throughout the year at the State Farmers Market. An Arbor Day Celebration will take place Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Other events are planned for April, May and June to celebrate seasonal fruits and vegetables.

The State Farmers Market is located at 1201 Agriculture St., off exit 297 on Interstate 40. The market is open year-round, and offers local agricultural products grown, raised, caught or made in North Carolina. In addition, visitors can find unique home and garden accessories at Market Imports, shop vendors at the Market Shoppes, and enjoy a meal at the State Farmers Market Restaurant, N.C. Seafood Restaurant or Market Grill.
