Upcoming NC State Borlaug Lecture honors green revolution pioneer

WHAT:
Dr. Thomas Lumpkin of the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center will headline the 2015 Borlaug Lecture, an annual event hosted by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the College of Natural Resources at NC State University to honor the legacy of Norman Borlaug, the father of the “green revolution.” 

Lumpkin’s talk will focus on partnerships between international research institutions and universities. Also at the event, Dr. George Kennedy of the NC State Entomology Department will receive the 2015 Borlaug Service to Society and Environment Award. The event is free and open to the public.
