USDA has published the United States National Residue Program (NRP) for Meat, Poultry and Egg Products: Residue Sampling Plans. The “Blue Book” summarizes the process the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) uses to sample meat, poultry and egg products for chemical contaminants of public health concern.
Chemical compounds tested in the program include approved and unapproved veterinary drugs, pesticides and environmental compounds. The updated Blue Book provides an overview of the 2015 domestic and import reinspection sampling plans along with summary tables.
