It’s about a 20-minute drive from Jamie DeMent and Richard Holcomb’s farm in Hillsborough to their restaurant, Piedmont, in downtown Durham. Items from the 55-acre Coon Rock Farm span the food spectrum, from pigs raised for meat to lettuces, eggs and honey, all of which appear on the restaurant’s menu.
