AgCarolina Farm Credit donates to local Jaycees

AgCarolina Farm Credit recently held an Employee Appreciation Day event where employees raised $300 by participating in a dunking booth. AgCarolina Farm Credit matched the donations dollar for dollar for a total sum of $600 being raised. These funds were presented to Warren County Jaycees President Joey Ross, who will be forwarding the funds to the NC Jaycee Burn Center at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
The donation was especially meaningful to Louisburg Loan Officer Billy Freeman. Billy knows first-hand what donations like these really mean to individuals at the Burn Center. Freeman states, “As a 7 year-old, I spent 6 weeks in the Burn Unit in Chapel Hill. The care I was given was amazing and after my recovery I was afforded the opportunity to go to Camp Celebrate with other young burn survivors like me. This gift by my employer and fellow employees at AgCarolina means a lot to me. Gifts like these give another young person the chance to heal not only through the talents of the Burn Unit team in Chapel Hill, but by the simple chance to attend a summer camp with other kids who share your story. I am honored and fortunate to work at a place like AgCarolina Farm Credit who supports the communities they serve.”
