Piedmont Triad Farmers Market to celebrate its 20th anniversary Friday

Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler will help celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Robert G. Shaw Piedmont Triad Farmers Market on Friday. Market staff will serve cupcakes and ice cream from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. The Got to Be NC Big Cart will be on display all day.

Longtime farmers market vendors will be on hand and available for media interviews.


The market officially opened on May 19, 1995. Last year, 1.8 million people visited the market. Mother’s Day weekend is one of the busiest weekends at the market, with lots of plants for sale. Strawberries are also expected to be in plentiful supply this weekend.
