ON FARM HAY STOCKS
On farm hay stocks totaled 265,000 tons as of May 1, 2015,
up 20% from the May 1, 2014 total of 220,000 tons.


WINTER WHEAT
Winter wheat production in North Carolina is expected to
total 35.8 million bushels for 2015, down 20% from the 44.7
million bushels produced in 2014. Yield per acre at 56 bushels
is down 3% from last year’s estimate of 58 bushels per acre.

CHICKEN EGGS
South Atlantic Region: Broiler-Type eggs in incubators on April 1, 2015 totaled
248,624,000. The total was up 2% from the April 2014 total of 244,732,000
eggs. The total number of Egg-Type eggs in incubators on April 1 was up
slightly from 4,628,000 in 2014 to 4,638,000 in 2015.
