Canada formally announces trade retaliation for COOL

The Canadian Ag Minister, Gerry Ritz was in Washington last week to discuss the beleaguered Country of Origin Labeling law, the recent World Trade Organization’s ruling against the US COOL legislation and Canada and Mexico’s planned retaliation if Congress doesn’t repeal COOL immediately.  Ritz hosted a conference call with reporters first outlining what the North American meat trade meant to the Canadian economy:
