More than two-thirds of North Carolina is abnormally dry

If it feels as though there had been a lack of rain in the past few weeks, you aren’t imaging things, officials said. Nearly 70 percent of North Carolina, including Forsyth County, is abnormally dry, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor at the National Drought Mitigation Center at the University of Nebraska.
