U.S. Senators Richard Burr (R-NC) and Thom Tillis (R-NC) applaud the inclusion of their legislation to establish I-44 to Hampton Roads and US 70 corridors into the Developing a Reliable and Innovative Vision for the Economy (DRIVE) Act. These additions were included as part of the Senate Environment and Public Works' (EPW) surface transportation bill which was reported out on Wednesday.

“I am pleased that that the Chairman and committee included our legislation to improve the North Carolina’s infrastructure in the DRIVE Act,” Senator Burr said. “Not only is this a boon to the North Carolinians living along the corridors, but for all of those who will have better access to our state, whether it’s to do business or to visit our scenic treasures.”

“The inclusion of our transportation and infrastructure legislation in the DRIVE Act is a win for the people of North Carolina,” said Senator Tillis. “A continued focus on improving our state’s infrastructure and supporting the creation of good-paying North Carolina jobs, the funding for this legislation is essential in promoting economic growth for our local economies.”
