Regulating deer key to preventing disease

A bill passed by the N.C. Senate and N.C. House Agriculture Committee would transfer regulation of captive cervids, hoofed animals including deer and elk, from joint oversight by the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission and USDA to the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
