WINTER WHEAT
Winter wheat production in North Carolina is expected to total 34.6 million bushels for 2015, down 23% from last year’s production of 44.7 million. Yield is forecast at 54 bushels per acre. This estimate is 4 bushels per acre lower than the 2014 yield of 58 bushels. 


SWEET POTATOES
Sweet potato production in 2014 totaled 15.8 million hundredweight, a 49% increase from the 2013 production of 10,600 million and a new record for North Carolina. Sweet potato acres harvested in 2014 increased 36% from 53,000 acres to 72,000 acres. Yield, at a record of 220 cwt per acre, was up 10% from the previous year.
