Study: Smoking age should be raised to 21

Shifting the minimum age to 21 could benefit society in several ways, said Brian King, acting deputy director for Research Translation in the CDC’s Office on Smoking and Health.A federal study released Tuesday found that about half of adults strongly favor increasing the minimum age for buying tobacco products from 18 to 21.
