As coal era ends, transmission lines in spotlight

The much-lauded May announcement from Duke Energy Progress that it would no longer burn coal to power the region likely will give way to a series of "not in my backyard" battles stretching from South Carolina's Upstate to Asheville after officials released a first look at possible routes for transmission lines.
