Winston-Salem-based Reynolds American Inc. is planning to grow the Newport menthol cigarette it acquired from Greensboro rival Lorillard in a recently completed $27.4 billion merger by offering new styles, hiring former Lorillard employees and expanding the brand into the western U.S.
