The egg industry isn’t happy with food startup Hampton Creek, it seems. The U.S. government-appointed American Egg Board tried to crush San Francisco-based Hampton Creek, which uses plant proteins to make vegan alternatives to traditionally egg-based products such as mayonnaise, according to a report by the Guardian.
