Attachment of Chinese and US economies explained

In past three weeks the New York and the worldwide stock exchanges have swung wildly, with as much as 1,000 point shift in one day, attributed mostly to the softening of the Chinese economy.  Dr. Nick Piggott, professor, grain marketing and risk management with NC State University says that China has a larger population with less arable land, and are not self-sufficient when it comes to feeding their population:
