The N.C. Coastal Resources Commission, or CRC, will meet at 10:15 a.m. Sept. 23 in the HR Training Room of the New Hanover Co. Government Complex, 230 Government Center Drive, Wilmington.
The meeting is open to the public.

Items on the CRC’s agenda include:
• CRC Rule Development – The commission will discuss draft rule language related to development of a State Ports Inlet Management Area of Environmental Concern. The CRC will also consider amendments to rules governing the Ocean Erodible Area of Environmental Concern, and coastal wetland rules that would allow pile-supported signs. The commission will also be discussing the siting of multi-family structures along the oceanfront.
• Land Use Planning – The CRC will consider certification of Pine Knoll Shores’ land use plan and an amendment to the land use plan for Jacksonville, N.C.
• Sandbag Use – The N.C. Division of Coastal Management’s staff will discuss the commission’s rules and polices regarding sandbag use.
• Public Input and Comment – Members of the public may comment on CRC issues at 1:15 p.m.

The Coastal Resources Advisory Council will meet at 9 a.m. in the HR Training Room.

The Coastal Resources Commission establishes policies for the N.C. Coastal Management program and adopts rules and policies regarding coastal development within areas of environmental concern.
