A shareholder group that earlier this year called on McDonald’s to stop buying meat made from animals raised with antibiotics also used in humans is pressing its point, according to a report from Reuters.

The Congregation of Benedictine Sisters of Boerne, Texas, withdrew its similar shareholder resolution introduced at the Oak Brook-based company’s annual meeting in May. The sisters now feel that a McDonald’s promise earlier this year to eliminate the use of chicken raised with antibiotics within two years does not go far enough, according to the report. The group wants the ban expanded to include pork and beef supplies used to make the fast food giant’s menu items.

“The double standard makes no sense to us,” Sister Susan Milka told Reuters. “What’s good for the goose ought to be good for the gander, or in this case, the whole farmyard.”

McDonald’s has not yet responded to the renewed call by the group on the antibiotics ban expansion.
