Duke Energy Carolinas plans to build a 6 megawatt solar plant on property it owns beside a substation in Rowan County.
It is just the second solar project that a Duke (NYSE: DUKE) utility has developed itself from scratch. But Duke utilities could be building more such self-designed plants in the future.
