NC State Athletics announced plans for the third annual “Ag Day” which pays tribute to the men and women of North Carolina who are dedicated to the state’s nearly $80 billion agriculture/agribusiness industry.

“The agriculture industry plays a significant role in the state of North Carolina and we are proud to honor this industry once again this year,” said NC State Head Football Coach Dave Doeren. “Ag Day has become one of our signature events and I expect it to be even bigger this season.”

The 2015 festivities will culminate on Saturday, Oct. 3 at Carter-Finley Stadium when NC State plays host to Louisville.  CALS will host its 24th annual CALS Tailgate event prior to kick-off in PNC Arena, while Fan Zone, outside the arena, will host family-friendly interactive sponsor exhibits, agriculture machinery displays and photo opportunities. During the game, two undergraduate students will be recognized on the field as the inaugural recipients of the Ag Day Scholarship. Throughout the course of the game, individuals involved in the North Carolina agriculture industry will be featured in video board segments, including Farm Credit members from all over the state.

“Being a sponsor of NC State’s Ag Day honors the commitment of the agriculture industry we serve,” says Dave Corum, President and CEO of AgCarolina Farm Credit.  “Partnering with NC State ensures we will continue to mold difference-makers for the future of agriculture in North Carolina.  We are proud to be a part of the Ag Day celebration.”

This year’s presenting sponsors are Farm Credit Associations of North Carolina; Bayer CropScience; KIOTI; North Carolina Soybean Producers Association; Case IH; North Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance; BASF and Lowe’s Foods. Supporting sponsors are Caterpillar; Agri Supply; Southland Dairy Farmers; CALS and the Southeast United Dairy Industry Association.
