Stewards of the Future: Water for a Growing World-Nov. 2 in Raleigh

Stewards of the Future: Water for a Growing World, hosted by NC State’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, will provide diverse perspectives on water quality and quantity issues worldwide, with special emphasis on North Carolina and agriculture.  

The conference takes place Monday, Nov. 2, at the McKimmon Center in Raleigh, N.C.

Through keynote addresses, multimedia presentations, a panel discussion and moderated workgroups, participants will explore how North Carolina and its partners can provide leadership toward the goal of ensuring water resiliency for our state and a growing world.

Speakers include Brian Richter, director of global freshwater strategies for The Nature Conservancy; Dr. Ken Reckhow, emeritus professor at Duke University in the School of the Environment; and Donald Chase, Georgia farmer and chair of the Flint River Water Council. Washington Post columnist Tamar Haspel will moderate a panel discussion on the Neuse River Basin. Also participating will be a number of the state’s industry, government and academic leaders.

At the event’s Innovation Fair, leading College of Agriculture and Life Sciences faculty will showcase ongoing and emerging scientific research.
