North Carolina hog farmers showed they are proud of their "honest day's work" at the NC Farm Families Rally in Raleigh on the North Carolina State Capitol grounds.

More than 300 farmers left their farms to join forces as they descended on the capital city on October 1st to make their voices heard in response to the repeated attacks they are facing.

The key speaker at the rally was Governor Pat McCrory who assured the farmers that they have his support and state government leaders will fight for them. McCrory stayed at the rally to hear the other speakers detail the attacks from extreme groups who deal in misinformation and third-party lawsuits to challenge the environmental practices of the pork industry.North Carolina hog farmers showed they are proud of their "honest day's work" at the NC Farm Families Rally in Raleigh on the North Carolina State Capitol grounds.

Farm families were featured onstage as the backdrop to McCrory and other speakers which included NC State Senator Brent Jackson, Wayne County farmer Megan Spence, NCPC CEO Deborah Johnson, NC Farm Families President Ed Emory and NC Farm Bureau President Larry Wooten.

At the end of the speakers' presentations, members of the farm families carried the more than 11,000 petitions supporting North Carolina's hog farmers into the State Capitol to deliver them directly to the Governor's office.

There was a little added excitement when a group protesting an immigration bill (HB 318) came by, but fortunately there was no disruption or interruption to the rally.

If you missed the Rally, NC Farm Bureau has shared video of some of the speakers, including Governor McCrory, on their YouTube Channel.
