Upon announcing the Full Committee hearing, Agriculture Committee Chairman K. Michael Conaway issued the following statement:
"Big data has arrived, and it is here to stay. This brings opportunity and unique challenges for technology providers, farmers, commodity traders and the consuming public. Wednesday's hearing will allow stakeholders to explain what big data means to their farm or business, and how it is changing the marketplace for agriculture."
