The N.C. Board of Agriculture will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, in the Martin Building at the State Fairgrounds. The meeting is open to the public.

The board will vote on proposed changes to rules governing the recording of seed varieties for flue-cured and blended tobacco.
Board members also will vote on a proposal regarding the testing of deer that die in captivity for chronic wasting disease. The proposal would conform state testing standards to federal standards, as required by the General Assembly in 2014.

The Board of Agriculture is a policymaking body that adopts regulations for many of the programs administered by the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Members are appointed by the governor. The commissioner of agriculture serves as chairman of the board.
