The National Pork Board (NPB) has launched a Thanksgiving campaign called "Porksgiving," a time for giving back – with pork.
"There's no better way to show someone your appreciation than with a home-cooked meal – and there's no better meal than one made with pork," Pamela Johnson, director, consumer communications, the National Pork Board, said in a news release.

The organization is encouraging consumers to visit www.PorkBeinspired.com/Porksgiving, where the National Pork Board will share stories that feature pork fans showing their thanks with pork dishes – like one daughter who thanked her 80-year-old mom who, despite her own age, still makes a difference in the lives of the elderly in her community.

Visitors also can see how pig farmers have given back through pork donations to food banks, and how they've supported the military and raised funds to give to those in need. The site includes featured recipes, and visitors are updated daily with new acts of “Porksgiving.”

Find more recipes to share throughout Porksgiving at Facebook.com/porkbeinspired. The campaign also has social media components on Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram – @porkbeinspired.

Consumers also can wrap gifts with bacon-designed wrapping paper, which will be available throughout the season at www.PorkBeinspired.com/Porksgiving.
