Local artisans will display their wares alongside N.C. farmers during the Fall Craft Fair at the State Farmers Market Nov. 13-15.

The annual holiday-season extravaganza will feature a variety of potters, quilters, woodworkers and more.

“The Fall Craft Fair is a great opportunity to find unique gifts for the holidays,” said market manager Ronnie Best. “While they’re here, visitors also can shop for their holiday meals, choosing from a variety of locally grown produce, meats, seafood and other specialty products from our farmers.”

The craft fair will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Dozens of crafters will be set up throughout the market, selling everything from quilted items and woodworking pieces to garden accessories and holiday wreaths. Other items include handmade soaps, pottery and ornaments.

Farmers are offering fresh fall produce such as apples, sweet potatoes, greens and turnips. There is also a variety of locally raised meat, wines, cheeses, jams and jellies and other treats in the Market Shoppes. And visitors also will find a good selection of plants, trees and shrubs for fall planting.

The State Farmers Market is open Monday through Saturday from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Located at 1201 Agriculture St., the market can be reached off exit 297 on Interstate 40, from downtown Raleigh via South Saunders Street, or from N.C. State University by way of Centennial Parkway.

Other upcoming events at the market include Colossal Collard Day, Nov. 20; Market Shoppes Open House, Dec. 5; and Pecan Day, Dec. 11. A complete schedule of events is available at www.statefarmersmarket.org.
