Upcoming conferences offer marketing, educational opportunities

A number of commodity conferences are scheduled early next year offering educational opportunities to
improve farming and business practices. Learn about new legislation, marketing and networking at the
following events:


The N.C. Blueberry Council holds its annual Open House and Trade Show Jan. 12-13 in Fayetteville.
Technology, research, packaging and legislation affecting blueberries are some of the topics discussed during
this open house and trade show.


The N.C. Agritourism Networking Association will hold its conference Jan. 14-15 in Winston-Salem. The
conference kicks off with a day of farm tours. The second day includes workshops on estate and succession
plans, liabilities, grant funding and business plan, Web design and social media.


The N.C. Sheep Producers Association will hold its annual meeting in Greensboro on Jan. 30.


The N.C. Pork Council annual conference will be held Feb. 4, followed by the N.C. Soybean Producers
Association conference on Feb. 5 during the Southern Farm Show (Feb. 3-5) at the N.C. State Fairgrounds.


The N.C. Tomato Growers Conference will be held in Asheville Feb. 10-11. Feast Down East conference
will be held at UNC-Wilmington on Friday, Feb. 12. N.C. Aquaculture Association's development conference
is Feb. 12-13 in New Bern.


Several organizations meet Feb. 25-26: N.C. State Beekeepers Association (New Bern), N.C. Cattlemen’s
Association and N.C. Dairymen’s Association (Hickory).
