Just because this may be a slow time for your agribusiness, doesn’t mean you should stop marketing. In fact,
with more time available, this may be the best time to start making next year your most successful.
1. Don’t stop marketing. Reach out to customers and prospects to wish them well for the New Year and
thank them for their support. Update your website and social media. Continue to tell your story— show what
your farm/business looks like during your off-season, especially with photos.
2. Now is time to get online. Now is a good time to set up that new website, get on social media, or fix
problems you’ve encountered online. Update/expand your online directory listings: that’s where many
customers will find you.
3. Make a marketing plan for the year. Create a calendar so you know what’s happening throughout the
year. See the calendar of events in this newsletter for upcoming marketing opportunities!
4. Include a marketing budget for the year. Know what you can spend and when/where you want to spend
to market your business.
5. Look for partnerships. Can you join forces with another business (food truck, hotels, restaurant, etc.) to
promote your business? What does your local chamber of commerce or tourism office offer? Are you taking
advantage of your Got to Be NC membership?
