Dear Friend,
Let's get down to brass tacks and cut through all the high-sounding political rhetoric coming out of Washington: The Omnibus spending bill isn't a victory, it's a defeat. It's more of the same old broken Washington politics.
Here's one example: We need to stop President Obama's Syrian refugee plan -- but the Omnibus funds the President's plan. He can now implement it. Completely. Even though we know there are holes in the visa screening process.
When we need less government, the Omnibus gives us more. When we need to cut waste, the Omnibus increases spending. And we end up with more debt.
Here's the bottom line: This bill doesn't change Washington politics -- it's more Washington politics. I voted against it.
