U.S. Sen. Richard Burr of Winston-Salem voted against the $1 trillion omnibus spending bill that was passed by Congress on Friday and signed by President Barack Obama — a bill that passed 65-33 on bipartisan support and drew a stark split among GOP members of the Senate.
