State Water Infrastructure Authority will meet Jan. 21 in Raleigh

The State Water Infrastructure Authority, or SWIA, will meet at 9:00 a.m. Jan. 21, 2016 at the North Carolina Rural Economic Development Center, located at 4021 Carya Drive in Raleigh, N.C. The meeting is open to the public.


The meeting agenda includes:
• Review of Applications Received for Sept. 30, 2015 Funding Round: Community Development Block Grant-Infrastructure (CDBG-I), Drinking Water State Revolving Fund and Clean Water State Revolving Fund
• Funding Decisions for Sept. 30, 2015 Funding Round (Action Items) for the Community Development Block Grant –I, Clean Water State Revolving Fund, and the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund
• Affordability criteria
• State Project Grant Priority System Update
• Asset Inventory and Assessment Grant
• Merger/Regionalization Feasibility Grant

The SWIA is an independent body with primary responsibility for awarding federal and state funding for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Other responsibilities include developing a state water infrastructure master plan, recommending ways to maximize the use of available loan and grant funding resources, and examining best and emerging practices.
