NC Pork Council announces director election results

Six directors were recently elected to the NC Pork Council board of directors and will begin their terms in February 2016. Two directors were elected to their first three-year-term and four directors will return to serve their second term. Each NCPC director may be elected to serve two three-year-terms on the board.


Below is a brief introduction of each newly-elected and re-elected board member.


District 4
*  Jared Porter will be serving his first term on the NCPC board. Jared is co-owner of his family farm, Porter Farms Inc., located in Mt. Pleasant.

District 5
*  Brandon Moore was elected to serve a second term as an NCPC director. He and his wife own Moore's Hog Farm in Nashville.

District 6
*  Chris Barwick returns to the board for his second term. He lives in Deep Run and is a long-time employee of Smithfield Hog Production Division.
*  Lorenda Overman was re-elected for her second term on the board. Lorenda and her husband own Overman Farms Inc. in Goldsboro.

District 7
*  Elwood Garner will be serving his second term as an NCPC director. Elwood co-owns and manages Garner Hog Farm and E and J Farms LLC. He lives in Kenansville.
*  Michael Inman was elected to serve on the NCPC board for his first term. Michael owns R&M Farms, a third-generation nursery in Tar Heel. He is also employed by Prestage as a sow service representative.
