Dear North Carolina Commodity Crop Producers,
North Carolina produces more tobacco and sweet potatoes than any other state and ranks in the top fifteen nationally in the production of upland cotton, peanuts, sweet corn, winter wheat, and soybeans. The vast array of crops produced in North Carolina is a testament to the state’s importance in the domestic and global food market.  In fact, North Carolina’s total value of agricultural products sold in 2014 was $12.995 billion.

The North Carolina Agriculture and Forestry Adaptation Work Group, a team composed of farm and forestry leaders, academic advisers and conservation, government and industry partners, invites you to participate in a survey to help inform the development of the North Carolina Agriculture and Forestry Adaptive Management Strategy.  The Strategy document will outline actions, initiatives, and recommendations that are needed to help North Carolina producers adapt to challenging weather conditions and improve resilience in the face of extreme weather events.

Please take time to complete the modest 16-question survey and help to identify those key issues and strategies that are important to you.
You can access the survey
here.

Thank you for your time and your input.

Sincerely,
The NC Agriculture and Forestry Adaptation Work Group Commodity Crops Team
