After introducing private labels on household products for several years now, Amazon.com is upping its involvement in the private-label arena with a line of perishable foods, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

An Amazon spokeswoman declined to comment, according to the Wall Street Journal, which added that the online retailer would offer the products to members of its Prime membership.

Although meat and poultry products don’t seem to be part of its initial perishable offerings, Amazon plans to launch private-label products ranging from tea to nuts.

The brands are expected to be offered on Amazon by June, according to the report.
