With the U.S. Department of Labor finalizing its long-awaited rule Wednesday that doubles the salary cutoff for overtime exemption under the Fair Labor Standards Act, employers will now be forced to conduct a tricky balancing act to determine whether to increase workers' salaries or convert them to hourly workers.
