Mark your calendars for Friday, July 29 to attend a sow productivity symposium at the Sampson County Extension Center, south of Clinton. The topic of discussion will be improving sow lifetime productivity by enhancing early life growth and management of replacement gilts. Specifically, recent research conducted at NC State University and increasing piglet pre-weaning growth through the use of artificial milking systems will be covered.


Presentations will be given by Dr. William (Billy) Flowers, professor of reproductive physiology at NCSU, Dr. Erin Harris, swine nutritionist at Provimi Animal Nutrition, and Dr. Mark Knauer, swine extension specialist at NCSU.
