A Better Way
After eight years of President Obama's leadership we have an economy that continues to struggle, a broken healthcare system, and less security at home and abroad. Fortunately there is a better way forward and in the last two weeks, House Republicans have begun to outline that with our A Better Way policy agenda. Thus far we've unveiled detailed plans on national security, poverty, the Constitution, and the economy. On Tuesday, I helped launch the Better Way on the economy at a press conference with House leaders on the West Front of the Capitol Complex. Two Bills to Create Jobs & Grow the Economy
Our economy is not where it should be this far into the recovery. Just last month we experienced the worst jobs report in six years and media reports have highlighted the plight of small businesses who are struggling to get lending from traditional financial institutions. In March, I introduced two bills to address this problem and this week, both of those bills passed the House Financial Services Committee in a bipartisan manner.

My bills both deal with innovative new forms of capital formation: crowdfunding and angel investing. Both harness new technologies to allow entrepreneurs and small businesses greater access to the capital they so desperately need to grow their businesses and create good-paying jobs.
Click here to learn more about these two bills--The Fix Crowdfunding Act and the Supporting America's Innovators Act--and to see video of my testimony at the markup Wednesday. Additionally, you can click  here for a quick video describing why we must pass these bills into law.
